Erica A Hicks, LPN

Erica Hicks is the president of the unit council. She is always positive and a great team player. She tries to spread her positivity by handing out stickers to her coworkers. She also organized donations to a local nonprofit organization. On this day, Erica had a patient who was depressed about a recent diagnosis and news about needing surgery for an amputation of an extremity. Most nurses would sit and talk to them for a while, but Erica took her lunch break, got him up in a wheelchair, and walked him around the hospital. She just talked to him about everything: hobbies, family, etc. By the end of her lunch break, she had him laughing. It warmed my heart to see a nurse so concerned about a patient’s mental health. She is an exceptional nurse.
