1)While laboring, I was often getting very nervous about interventions I wasn't expecting. I was calm, but cried a few times. Erica was the most comforting staff assigned to me at that point. She would ask me about my fears, comfort me with her experience and explain things to me well. Erica consulted my birth plan often and was encouraging. She was constantly telling me how well I was doing and how strong I was-things a nervous first time Mom will always cherish hearing. She was a huge blessing during my labor!I cannot imagine a better nurse for the experience.
2)Erica was one of the only two nurses who called me (the father)by my name, instead of just "Dad." She included me in medical decisions as my wife wanted. She was very kind and inclusive, always checking that we were fully aware of any interventions or changes in medical condition. She always was smiling and had a great sense of humor. We will remember her FOREVER!
