It had been determined that my hemoglobin was at “6” and I needed a blood transfusion. I was transported by “Care Link” from the Moses Cone High Point facility to the main Moses Cone Hospital. When the EMTs were putting me from gurney to hospital bed, I went unconscious of breath and Erica, my assigned nurse in 3E13 immediately resuscitated me back to life. She was amazing to act so quickly and professionally. Her compassion was reflected in her constant care of every detail of my transfusions and other needs through the night and into the next morning. When I was aware of what had occurred, I kissed her and told her “I will never forget her kindness and loving actions to keep me alive”. I am 82 years old, and I am very, very grateful to be alive today because of this beautiful nurse saving my life. May she be honored by Moses Cone for her exceptional service and quick response. I was treated like a queen at your hospital and am amazed observing the many facets of operating this outstanding hospital.
