Erica always took the time not only to address my needs but she also anticipated my needs. When I had some issues with pain, she got right to work and within a few hours had me comfortable enough to eat. She even took the liberty to bring me a variety of foods without me asking.

As a fellow caregiver, I have never imagined discovering that I had stage 4 rectal cancer at 39. The past 6 months, since diagnosis, have been surreal but also we have never felt so much love and support from family, co-workers, and caregivers. I have now been on Seidman twice for care. I have to say that the staff is so phenomenal that I never had to use the call light once there during my inpatient stays. Despite all my caregivers and EVS being phenomenal, I would really like to point out the wonderful, patient, and compassionate care I received from Erica. I truly felt a sense of relief when she entered my room. She recognized needs I didn’t know I had. She was diligent about checking my pain frequently and offered helpful suggestions and plan to help manage my pain overnight. Erica was very kind and appears to enjoy her job and has the compassion to help others. She has a very calming, reassuring presence. I can say that as a fellow caregiver it’s difficult to step out of that role and let someone care for you. With so much to worry about after diagnosis 6 months ago, UH should be extremely proud as a whole at the difference they have made in my life as well as many others. Making a scary time, a little less scary, and providing me with the tools to beat cancer! All my love (UH proud!)
