The surgical services clinical manager team would like to nominate Erica Pruschen for the DAISY Award in recognition of her exceptional leadership, strong presence, and unwavering commitment to improving both patient care and team performance. Erica is an action-oriented leader who does not hesitate to step in when challenges arise. Instead of observing from a distance, she actively seeks to understand the root of issues and takes thoughtful, decisive action to resolve them. Whether addressing workflow inefficiencies, supporting staff during high-pressure situations, or identifying opportunities for improvement, she consistently turns challenges into meaningful change. Her resourcefulness and ability to navigate complex situations make her an invaluable asset to our team. She has a powerful presence that brings clarity, confidence, and direction—especially in moments when it matters most. Staff feels supported knowing she will advocate for what is right and take the necessary steps to ensure safe, effective patient care. In addition to her daily leadership, she has taken on the significant responsibility of serving as Interim Nurse Manager for the Operating Room. In this role, she has demonstrated remarkable adaptability, accountability, and dedication—ensuring continuity, supporting staff, and maintaining high standards of care during a critical time for our department. What truly sets Erica apart is her commitment to continuous improvement. She does not settle for the status quo and is always looking for ways to strengthen processes, elevate the team, and enhance the patient and staff experience.
