Erika was my nurse immediately after delivering our child. I was a bit in another world, and she made sure I was comfortable, calmly helped me breastfeed for the first time, and helped me learn how to best heal postpartum, even going with me into the bathroom to put pads, cold packs, etc, on without embarrassment. She felt like a sister more than a nurse and had a momma bear presence. She made sure I felt supported, was ready for visitors, and had all the nutrition, hydration, and elements I needed in the room to be comfortable post-delivery. There was no question that felt silly, and she was so bright and positive in the early AM hours. It made for a wonderful transition from delivery to postpartum that we are very grateful for.
