I have known B for many years and have never seen her as sick as she was when she was in the hospital. I talked to her on the phone every day. I was there when she passed. B talked highly of all the nurses on 5 main, however, she talked about Erica all the time. She even joked about adopting Erica during her stay. When she spoke about Erica, it was like she was talking about a friend. It warmed my heart to know that while she was getting bad news and going through tough times, she had someone there who was special to her. Erica even took her outside to get fresh air because she had not been outside in weeks. B talked about how Erica would check on her every time she worked, even if she wasn’t assigned to her. She would have conversations with B. Talking with Erica made her so happy and it made her feel like a person. Erica deserves to know what she does has a greater impact than she may know.
