Ericka was recognized for her work with a patient on the Mother/Baby Unit. Ericka exhibited the most thoughtful and compassionate care of any nurse the family encountered during their hospital stay. With a new baby, the mother and father were sleep deprived and Ericka was very sensitive to these needs. She was punctual, to the point, and very helpful in her visits. She took care to time her visits with the baby's nurse to minimize disturbances, which the mother and father really appreciated. Ericka also listened attentively to what the mother was experiencing and was able to offer helpful solutions that had not been brought up by other staff. The most memorable and unique solution Ericka gave was how to make an ice pack out of a newborn diaper. The parents said they felt safe and taken care of under her watch.
Ericka's director says she would let Ericka care for any of her friends or family members. Ericka is compassionate and exhibits many leadership qualities that translate into the exceptional care she provides for her patients.
