I do not have any specific individual situations in which this individual has made a positive impact for staff and patients because this individual does this continuously daily. He is an exemplary nurse and nurse leader. Alvin leads by example and personally demonstrates exemplary nursing practice, team collaboration among his unit and the entire hospital, and professional development, as demonstrated by his pursuit of his MSN. He is continuously working to improve not only patient care and outcomes but also unit teamwork, staff and leader morale, and professional development of his team. He puts forth an immense amount of effort in his role, and it is visible in successful results, effective teamwork and collaboration, and the morale of his unit and team. He is constantly available and visible on the unit and as a resource for the entirety of the leadership team. He has assisted in tackling multiple initiatives such as surge space, z-beds, and overflow ASU. I know I emulate his leadership skills and look to him for advice and constructive criticism. He is a nurse leader who truly deserves recognition for his effectiveness and the overall impact he has made with all his hard work here at Kaiser SSC.
