After having major kidney surgery, I was extremely disoriented. My surgery was more intense than what was planned, and with that, I was also drastically in more pain. While trying to figure out the right pain management, I hit 10/10 pain. My family was very concerned and trying to help, to no avail. Erik never waivered. He was kind, compassionate, and patient through it all. I'm not the type to be taken care of. It's very difficult for me to let go and not feel like a burden. Erik never made me feel like I was a burden, even when I had vomited all over. He handled everything that needed to be done quickly and professionally. He was never annoyed with my family and even took time to show and explain my bandage change to my husband.

Erik was always polite and thoroughly answered all of my questions, even when I would get confused or forget, he would explain all over again with a smile. Erik was always prompt and thorough with my requests. It wasn't until late in my stay that I found out my room wasn't even close to the nurse's station. Erik made me feel as though I was the only patient on the whole floor. Erik has an amazing bedside manner and made my very excruciatingly painful visit as enjoyable as possible. I truly feel that I couldn't have gotten a better nurse to care for me than Erik.
