Erika has taken care of my baby, L, many times throughout our 3+ months in the NICU. Erika stands out because she truly loves being a NICU nurse, and her passion is evident in the details of each day. Erika is an excellent and competent nurse. I watched her gently and diligently care for my daughter. She genuinely cares for L and has come by to see her and check on us even when she was not our nurse. Erika works well with the other NICU staff, and she speaks highly of others when they aren’t around. Erika helped me follow up on a test result we were anxious about; she called and talked to people and made me feel like I could trust her to advocate for us. Erika told me that being a NICU nurse is her dream job. She picks up extra shifts because she loves her work. She says she is so grateful to work here, and this is evident in how much effort she puts into every detail – she kept the counter in L’s room more organized and clean than anyone else! Erika was always offering to help me by getting supplies, caring for L, or obtaining and explaining information about the NICU or my daughter. I always knew L was well taken care of with Erika because of her attention to detail, care for L, her ability to collaborate with the NICU team, and her capability as a nurse. I feel like all of these words don’t do her justice, but I will end with saying Erika is a true DAISY Nurse.
