Erika E. Gatzke, RN, BSN
Our brother was a patient for one and a half weeks and ended up on Comfort Care within the hospital. His goal was to get to a point physically where he could go home on hospice, but instead, circumstances remained that would not allow that to happen.
Erika, along with the team on the 3rd floor, provided me and my whole family, including my brother, the love and support to get all of us through this difficult time. Erika, in particular, provided above and beyond care to hold our hands, instruct us on what was going to occur, and provide us with the knowledge to allow us to process all of this. My brother was handled with such support and care to allow him to pass without pain or discomfort. We all know he is now free of the pain, and Erika and the team on the 3rd floor allowed him to do so.
