Erika Johnston 2025, BSN, RN

My daughter-in-law was admitted to BSW Waco/Hillcrest after having what we will call a traumatic 24-hour laboring and 3+ hours of pushing at a local facility. Erika was her first and primary nurse.

This amazing human jumped in and took charge. She put Mom at ease. She explained everything. She gave her options. She assured Mom every single step of the way. After Mom had the Cesarean, they (RN and Mom) discussed future pregnancies, and Erika explained that Mom still had options and choices in the future, that it did not necessarily mean that she would have to have all Cesarean births.

There was never any judgment by Erika for anything, and she continued to educate Mom and my son. Her knowledge and compassion showed the entire time, and I just cannot thank her enough for all of the wonderful care she gave my family!

We had all been awake and worried for close to 48 hours, and I am just so appreciative of this lovely lady! I am also a BSW employee in FW. Because of the amazing care from everyone (she also said that both doctors that cared for her, were phenomenal) she has changed future birth-plans to always be at BSW Hillcrest!
