Erika King, RN

I want to compliment Erika formally. She cared for me while I was admitted to Ascension. She provided top-notch, compassionate care for me. I was admitted after being in a car accident with my family. I arrived via helicopter and had to have emergency surgery on my pelvis as it was fractured in several places. My memory of my admission is a bit fuzzy, but I could never forget DAISY. While I was a patient at St. V, my son was admitted to the Riley PICU with serious spinal cord and brain injuries. Unfortunately, twelve days after the accident, he passed due to his injuries. After hearing about the death of my son, Erika ordered flowers to be sent to us along with a beautiful heart-shaped memory board. She also drove over an hour to attend my son’s viewing. I know many nurses, but I don’t know many who would go so far above and beyond. Erika embodies the true definition of what a nurse should be. I will never forget Erika's kindness, empathy, and compassion during the most difficult time in my life. The world needs more nurses like her.
