My husband of 58 years passed last October. I have been ill since then. Tuesday evening, I was hurting, crying and ready to give it all up. My lovely nurse, Erika, came to my room and held me close. Tears were falling from both of us. I shared what I had been going through and her kindness and compassion helped me to settle down. On Wednesday, Valentine’s Day, Erika walked into my room with a bouquet of flowers. I had not shared with her that my husband was always buying me flowers. Erika put the flowers in a vase, and last night, I smelled the flowers all night long. What wonderful memories I have! Thank you for your reaching out to a sick 82-year-old woman. You put a smile on my face and lovely memories back into my heart!
