Erika was caring for a first time mom and her new baby. Being a first time mom, this mom was anxious about taking care of her newborn. Erika guided this family; talked with them, reassured them, and taught them. When the baby developed issues and needed to be transferred to NICU, Erika was a support to the family. Erika went out of her way to educate, prepare, and care for the family, while giving great care to the newborn. Erika stayed with the mom until transportation for her arrived.
Erika received this note from the Grandmother on the following day:
"I just want to tell you that I will forever be grateful to God for you. You'll be included in my prayers. God always puts His people on your path to be there for comfort, help, and for Him to remind us of how He works and how merciful and wonderful He is. May God continue to bless you and may he shower you with His Grace and continue to make His light shine through you and on you. You are truly a blessing and it is apparent that God is with you. Thank you."
