Erin is an extraordinary person and clinician who has been dedicated and committed to this healthcare system for 20 years, and she has grown with the organization. She is a skilled, knowledgeable, and compassionate nurse who consistently promotes the highest ethical standards. Erin is a positive role model and collaborative interdisciplinary team player. Most impressively, she demonstrates the true meaning of patient and family advocacy on a daily basis. Erin took on the role of Charge RN in 2018 and has flourished in this position over the past few years. I personally enjoy my relationship with Erin as Charge RN because she gives our team the autonomy to take on projects without micromanaging, which in turn is respectful and elevating. She is an active listener and problem solver, and I know I can approach her with anything the day may bring. Erin has truly grown into the type of leader who mentors and coaches others in achieving professional goals and development. She continuously advances her own personal knowledge and exemplifies what it means to be a life-long learner. Putting her angst of testing aside, she diligently studied and deservingly achieved her title of Oncology Certified Nurse. By sitting next to Erin at the nurse's station, I am able to witness her interactions with patients firsthand. I have such a respect for the way she alleviates her patients' anxieties by using a kind, soft tone of voice and actively listening and answering questions appropriately with reassurance. She consistently develops a connected and trusted relationship with her patients and families. It is refreshing to know that if myself, my family, or any of my friends were under her care, they would be in the very best healing hands. If we can multiply Erin by the millions, the world would be a better place. For all of these reasons, Erin is so deserving of the DAISY Award and more.
