Erin did an outstanding job caring for both the patient, and her sister and me. Erin made sure we were informed and updated on her status. She showed great compassion when working with my cousin, taking care of every need. Always letting her know what she was doing and why even though it was quite obvious that C was not alert enough to comprehend. Erin always made sure we understood what the doctors were saying and would go over all of the information again after they left to make sure she was overwhelmed in an already overwhelming situation. I commend her passion for her patients and her ability to empathize with both patient and family. In the 3 days she cared for C, she had a good day, and 2 that weren't so great and you could tell that she truly cared and wanted to do whatever she could to assist in improving her state.
Again, we are blessed to have the amazing staff we do here at UMMC/STC so to be able to encounter a nurse that really shines above the rest is extraordinary. On behalf of my cousin C, her sister and our entire family - Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for caring for C as though she was your own family member.
