During my induction process, I was in a lot of pain and Erin was in there checking on me frequently and helped me find ways to be more comfortable, whether it was repositioning me every 10 minutes or doing breathing exercises. After 3 days of labor we ended up with a C-section and Erin was there to explain what was going to happen and stood by me while I was vomiting, as I ended up with an infection. Every aspect of her care was done with compassion and I could never thank her enough.
Erin always came in with a smile and always included our family in the plan of care. During my 3 day induction she stayed positive and keep us positive with even the littlest progression and when it turned into a C-section and I ended up with an infection, she remained positive and shared her story of the same type of labor/delivery. With so much pain it's easy to lose hope and just want to be done with it all, but Erin was amazing in keeping us uplifted. No amount of thanks could ever equal the care she gave us.
Erin was very resourceful as we are first-time parents and she took the time to not only explain the process of being induced but to explain every step while it was happening, what to expect, and different ways to deal with the pain. Erin not only included me but also the father of the baby and my mother in every step. You could tell Erin loves what she does and was very organized in her work. After having our daughter, we had Erin as our nurse for 3 more nights and she took the time to help me learn proper breastfeeding techniques, helped with my pain and was just amazing the whole experience.
As said above, Erin went above and beyond in every step of the birthing process and post partum. When I first started Pitocin the fetal monitor was hard to get my daughters heartbeat because she was always moving, Erin was in there and tried everything until she got it and she was in there frequently to fix it as it was always losing the heartbeat. Erin didn't seem annoyed and was always trying to do best practice. After birth, our daughter was extremely fussy two nights and Erin could tell we were absolutely exhausted, Erin offered to take our daughter to the nursery so we could get a couple hours of sleep and it was truly amazing. Erin also answered any questions we had and was hands-on with every step of care.
Erin is the definition of selfless. She spent endless hours helping us learn ways to soothe our daughter as we are first time parents. Being a nurse is a selfless job in itself, Erin leaves her little boy to come care for us and our children, that is selfless, from one nurse to another. Erin truly went above and beyond, I could go on and on with good things about her, she is a true DAISY Nurse.
