The day after our last snowstorm, Erin was working in the Observation Unit. A patient was being discharged from the unit; however, her car was in the parking lot, covered in snow. The patient was unable to clear the snow herself due to her age and limited mobility. The Observation unit staff asked Public Safety if they were able to assist with the patient’s car by removing the snow from it; however, they were unable to help. Erin then went out to the patient’s car and removed the snow from the patient’s car, allowing the patient to safely leave the hospital upon discharge. I applaud her for her dedication to her patients and for going above and beyond in the name of patient safety.
