Erin went above and beyond today for a patient’s mother. The child was being seen in the ER for an emergency and was in critical condition. The mother wasn’t able to come see the child. Staff on 3SW were made aware of the situation. Erin was on the way to lunch when she heard of the situation.
Erin offered to bring the mother, who was a patient on her unit, down to the child’s bedside and stayed with the mother until her daughter was transferred out of the emergency room. As a mother, I can only imagine the feeling of not being able to be there for your child when they need you the most.
