We have spent several months on this unit and are familiar with many of the stellar nurses here. This was our first time to be with Erin, but she really batted for us in an impressive way. We had several procedures scheduled. Our palliative care team had worked all weekend to coordinate times, but Monday morning was a mess. Erin jumped through hoops to get to the bottom of what needed to happen and also was very clear in her communication back to us. The uncertainty made us very uneasy, because some of the mixed messages between departments were contradicting and could have been detrimental to our daughter. She advocated for us by making a sign for the door for people to not come in without talking to her first and then she continued to attempt to reach the one physician who was able to clarify. Erin was a great patient and family advocate.
