Her creative approach made my son calm down and he even started talking to her and smiling at her.
Nurse Erin is an exceptional person. She is extremely knowledgeable and happy to share her knowledge with patients and family members to aid in care. Our three-year-old had to stay in the hospital for a week and was terrified of the place, situation, strangers approaching him and touching him and numerous strange procedures being done on him. He screamed as soon as any member of the medical personnel would enter the room and refused to talk with any of them.

Thankfully after a few days, we were introduced to Erin who made a world of difference with her exuberance. She eased my son's fears with her caring and witty personality. Even through her mask, her smile underneath was shining through. Her creative approach made my son calm down and he even started talking to her and smiling at her. She made everything into a game to engage him. Suddenly the scanning of his hospital bracelet became a game of laser tag and he was laughing. Erin was able to turn taking his temperature from tantrum to smiles by showing him a button to press to make the probe fly like a rocket; my son made sure to tell all of the other nurses to take his temperature the correct “Nurse Erin” way. My son on his own told me Nurse Erin is my favorite because she is kind.

Erin provides extraordinary care for the patients and even their families with devotion. She goes above and beyond to even ask if there was anything else she could help us with or if we needed anything else to make us comfortable such as water or more blankets. She always took her time to explain everything thoroughly and thoughtfully and answered all of our questions in a clear manner with great compassion. Erin is the kind of nurse all patients wish for to provide knowledgeable thoughtful care with great compassion and humor. It was such a blessing having her be our nurse. Even after two weeks of being home our son smiles and says “Remember Erin from the hospital? She was my favorite nurse.” This is so wonderful to hear that he associates his hospital stay with joy especially since his first was fear. Erin is humble but her devotion to the nursing profession and her compassionate care for patients deserves recognition.
