Unfortunately, I had a medical emergency in January. I was 37 weeks pregnant and was rushed to the hospital via ambulance as I was experiencing a placental abruption. I lost my son that night. I had to have a C-section and then had to have another surgery as I was hemorrhaging a large amount of blood, which resulted in a hysterectomy. Following my recovery, I was sent to the ICU where I had Erin as my nurse for a few days. It's hard to put into words how Erin helped me through those first few days. I was trying to recover physically and emotionally, and Erin went above and beyond to make sure I was okay in all aspects. She took extra care to make sure I had everything I needed, and she reached out to my husband with updates when he was at home with our 7-year-old son. Her compassion was exceptional, she didn't ask questions about the baby unless I started the conversation, and she treated me with the utmost respect the entire time. This was the worst experience in my life, most of the events are a blur, but I remember how compassionate Erin was to me and my family, and I will forever be grateful for her. The ICU at Anderson is blessed to have her a part of the team.
