I am a 100% Disabled Air Force Veteran, 84 years old. During my career, I was fortunate to have met and worked with many outstanding individuals and was able to travel throughout the world. This summer, I fell and broke 2 ribs. My wife took me to the Emergency Room where I was treated but not admitted. Days later I developed breathing problems and a cough. My wife took me back to the Emergency Room at which time I was admitted and treated for pneumonia.
All my nurses and staff were outstanding, however, Erin Raeford stands out in my mind as one of the most dedicated professionals I ever had the pleasure to meet. My injuries were extremely painful due to my COPD, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Hypoxia, Osteo Arthritis and being on oxygen 99% of the time.
Erin took great care to make sure I understood what was occurring with me along with explaining in detail my instructions.
When she first told me her name, it sounded like my nephew's name, Aaron, who is also a nurse. I told Erin about him giving up a promising baseball career because he wanted to be a nurse in Pediatrics for a very personal reason. Erin told me that she also gave up a sports career to go into nursing and how it was the best decision she had ever made. The nursing industry is the winner here!
Erin takes her job to heart and I can't say enough about her dedication. She made a difficult time for me pass easier and made it bearable.
