My daughter was airlifted to your hospital and was blessed to have Erin as her ICU nurse.
My daughter was very sick when she arrived, and Erin's shift began later that morning. Erin's respect was beyond amazing in terms of the exceptional, professional care, and compassion that she demonstrated while caring for her. There was a brief window when she was taken off sedation and intubation and was able to speak in a whisper. Erin was incredible in communicating with her and there was even some humor. When things took a turn for the worse, Erin was definitely in charge and she worked quickly to get doctors, specialists, and nurses to her side. We always felt 100% confident in her desire and ability to provide the best possible care for her and to provide us with timely, open and honest communication.
Myself, along with my daughter's husband and her sister were allowed to be in the room with her, but Erin knew instinctively when it was time to ask us to leave so we would not be in the way of certain procedures. Erin answered all our questions and kept us updated on what procedures were taking place, and we would always be brought up to speed when we could return.
Sadly, my daughter passed after three days at Banner; but we knew that Erin and the entire medical team did everything possible for her. We cannot thank Erin enough for being there with us during the three worst days of our lives. Erin was the light we had in all the darkness that weekend.
We will forever be grateful to Erin and the entire medical team who worked tirelessly to try and save her.
