 After a very stressful appointment the week before, we came to children's again for an MRI. Erin was our nurse and she read my son's chart and all the information about what might upset him and his favorites before she called us back to the room. She got down to his level and played with his stuffed animals before she began her exam. When it was time to transition to the MRI table he began to get anxious and she was reassuring and sat with him. She was so patient and caring when he began to get upset. She even sang his favorite song when he was crying "Twinkle Twinkle little star". She treated him like a part of her family. Because he has limited verbal language a lot of people seem to not engage with him. Erin didn't treat him any differently and it was so heartwarming to see. She even took my call at the end of her very long day because he still wasn't drinking. Nurses like Erin are the reason we travel to Children's!
