Renee is an extraordinary nurse. She is a DAISY nurse everyday. She is a model for nurses in every aspect. Renee was taking care of a patient who had been transferred out of the ICU. Renee did not think the patient was stable enough for the floor, so she decided to watch the patient carefully. The patient was not feeling well so Renee decided to do vital signs. The blood pressure was elevated, the doctor was called, he did not give any new orders but said to watch the vital signs, and yes Renee watched the patient carefully, the blood pressure kept elevating, she called the doctor and also called an ICU RN. The patient was transferred to the ICU.

One of the doctors in the ICU thanked Renee for her quick actions, he said that the patient would not have made it, had she not used critical thinking and good assessment. Renee uses excellent communication and interpersonal skills everyday. She is loved by her patients. She is extremely efficient, she is knowledgeable about her patients. Renee's performance definitely exemplifies the mission, vision and values of Shepherd Center.
