Last weekend, Erin was highlighted by her peers for the act of kindness she provided her intubated patient. Erin was caring for a patient on the surge unit who needed spiritual care support. Erin took the time to help her intubated patient communicate with the chaplain, through our team's virtual iPad, by reading all of the patient's written responses to the chaplain. This ensured that this patient could get the support he needed from spiritual care, and communicate effectively. This simple act ensured that this patient was treated with honor, dignity, and courtesy when he needed it most.
Erin is more than a skilled nurse, she is also compassionate, trustworthy, and patient. Erin is a nurse who takes the extra time, to ensure that patients feel supported. This is one of MANY acts of kindness I have been witness too, or heard of, from Erin. She is an incredible nurse, who deserves to be highlighted.
