Not only was Erin knowledgeable, she was attentive, understanding, and warm in her demeanor.
Dear Patient Experience Team,
I would like to convey how extremely grateful my family is to have had the extraordinary and compassionate care provided to my dad by Nurse Erin Tonrey. He is a 77-year-old who was admitted to the orthopedic trauma unit 4 West following a motorcycle accident. He sustained multiple injuries and required emergency surgery. During his stay, we had a particularly impressive and personal experience with the care provided by Erin.
While all of the Garnet nurses provided exceptional care, Erin demonstrated a superior level of compassion, understanding, and attentiveness that meant so much to us during a stressful, uncertain experience. My dad was in extreme pain, and along with the injuries from his accident, he also battled other existing conditions. Erin responded warmly and knowledgeably when unexpected concerns in his medical plan arose due to a cancer treatment that he needed. We were also worried about the status of his wound. She demonstrated extreme patience and respect that made us feel like my dad was her top priority. She was quick and efficient with getting questions answered and having the oncology doctor contact us at a late hour.

She provided excellent clinical care, and at the same time, she took the time to make sure we had answers right away. Her notes in the Garnet portal were immediate, articulate, and accurate, providing us with confidence that my dad's needs and concerns were communicated immediately. Her effectiveness and high level of care greatly impressed us and gave us comfort and confidence that he was truly being taken care of. Her prudence stood out; she went above and beyond. We admire her for being a nurse who exemplifies what we feel it means to be a nurse. She was effective, understanding, skilled, attentive, and highly competent. We will remember Erin, and are beyond grateful and appreciative for how well showed compassion, eased our worry, and took care of my dad.
