Erinn is extremely caring and listened intentionally to my grandfather's needs. She developed a relationship with him that is indescribable, though he thought highly of all the nursing staff that provided care to him, Erinn just touched his heart in a different way. My grandfather is 80 years old and never had surgery before, and now he needs a CABG. He was very nervous and became extremely emotional, but Erinn provided compassionate care while keeping the environment lighthearted and fun, which was exactly what he needed. My grandfather doesn't usually choose favorites, but he admitted Erinn is his favorite!!

He was scheduled on a Wednesday to go to surgery, so Erinn (a dayshift nurse) picked up an extra night shift to make sure she could be with him and get him ready for his big day. This absolutely meant the world to him. Even though she was busy with her patient assignment, she went above any expectations and made time during her shifts throughout his two-week stay to keep his granddaughter (a nurse here at SVH), updated when doctors rounded. There were a lot of ups and downs trying to determine the best plan of treatment in this very difficult case.

This was an emotional situation for the whole family, but Erinn keeping her updated meant a lot to my grandfather as he didn't always understand what the doctors were trying to explain and relied heavily on family support. Erinn is an exceptional nurse, and we were blessed as a family to have her care for him.
