I'm not just an arm or other body part to be deftly poked. I'm a living, breathing, perhaps fearful fellow human in her care. She deserves a DAISY.
Erisa was nominated by two of her patients:
I have the good fortune to get my chemotherapy at the hands of nurse Behrani. Her professionalism and skills are stellar, but it's her humanity that strikes me most. How many needles into how many veins? How many injections? Her tasks are repetitive and pre-ordained - the makings of a heart-numbing job. Not for Erisa. There's her quiet calm "Ready?" before the needle slips gracefully into place (on only one try) and then her "You doing okay?" as things proceed. The same thing happens with injections. I'm not just an arm or other body part to be deftly poked. I'm a living, breathing, perhaps fearful fellow human in her care. She deserves a DAISY.
Compassionate: Erisa is a concerned par excellence nurse, she makes sure I am comfortable with any of the processes. When I asked to change the location of the intravenous she did it immediately with a smile and made me feel great. She is not hesitant to ask for help from other staff members and they come to help her. You can feel the respect and love all have for her. We've become a close family and tell each other family stories. She asked me numerous times if I have any needs or issues. Food, pain, arranging my chair, light, phone, etc. She walks me out when she does not have to, to make sure I will get to the waiting car. I love the empathy and service I get from Erisa.
