Being in the NICU is hard for any mom. However, my husband and I are blessed to have Erlinda as our nurse. Erlinda knows that I was fixated on my baby's monitor. I was worried that he will desaturate, or his heartbeat will decline. However, Erlinda takes her time doing her cares; making sure he is calm and oxygen levels and heart beat stays perfect. If my baby starts to freak out, she will hold his head and his hands to calm him. I can tell she not only needs to get the job done, but she wanted to do it in a way where baby and parents are comfortable. Also, my husband and I love to be educated about our babies' care. Erlinda has no problem explaining how all the equipment works, how to look for baby signs and how to hold and care for our first baby. I feel so comfortable taking my preemie baby home because she took the time to teach both of us to be parents. Throughout my stay at the NICU, she has truly made this very hard experience comforting. Erlinda has shown professionalism, excellence, compassion, and love. She is truly an extraordinary nurse.
