I would like to tell you about one of your exceptional nurses. His name is Erwin Rugay.

Erwin was my nurse one night on Street 3. I have never had a more professional nurse take care of me. I thought it might be awkward for Erwin because we work together. But he carried on as only a true professional would do. I could tell he really cared about me and what was wrong. I felt like I was his only patient that night.

Erwin is a true blessing to his profession. Before he administered any treatment or medication he would tell me exactly what he was going to do. I cannot tell you what comfort that brings to a patient when you know what is coming as opposed to being told to do something. You can tell when you meet him he is there for the patient.

I would like to nominate Erwin for the DAISY Award. If ever there was a nurse who deserved it, it would be Erwin. I would like to go further and commend all of the staff on Street 3. I thought I would have people in and out of my room all night. But I only saw my care team. That was so comforting because I could just rest. I am truly blessed to have the privilege to work with such a fine team. Their care is exceptional.
