Esmeralda has made a difference in so many of my shifts. However, the most recent was her stepping in to help one of my patients with ADLs so I could go check on another patient who needed my attention due to a change in health status. She could have told my patient to wait, and she could have handed off the care to someone else, but instead, she showed that she cared so much that she did it herself so I could go help my other patient. She made my patient feel valid because she had been having a rough day, and she needed to be cleaned up. My patient's family was also very grateful for her stepping in so I could begin a rapid response for my other patient. This is just one example of how selfless she is. She cares about the patients and the entire unit as a whole. She is super inclusive and worries about her coworkers all the time. Being on the unit while she is charge makes me feel very supported.
