We had a patient who just received heart wrenching news that his cancer had metastasized. He was very distraught and the only peaceful thought he had was his farm along with his animals. Estella was his nurse, and he shared with her a picture of his sanctuary. He lives alone and his animals were his family. Estella went home, painted that same picture, and then she surprised him. The patient was very thankful and proudly displayed this painting in his room. And he said with a smile in his face, "Every time I look at this painting, I am at peace and looking forward to going home."
