My mom was admitted to the hospital with a potential mild heart attack. Mom has always been relatively healthy, so being in an inpatient setting was a little unnerving for her, although she did joke that she was excited to try out the new cardiac unit at Evergreen. Estella was her day nurse and we couldn't have asked for a better nurse. She was so present you would almost think Mom was her only patient. Not only did Estella tend to her needs constantly, she would take time to talk to my mom about anything just to make her feel more comfortable. Estella has a gift for connecting with her patients, almost like she's known them for years. She helped make an otherwise scary situation one that we will remember positively for a long time to come.
