I would like to take this opportunity to express my deep gratitude to Estelle Smal for her exceptional dedication to both her staff and patients. Estelle is an outstanding unit manager, whose genuine compassion and commitment to the welfare of all individuals under her care is truly inspiring.
particular instance that highlights her extraordinary care involves a patient who was admitted to Mediclinic Vergelegen following a motorcycle accident and later transferred to our Intensive Care Unit before moving to General Ward D. During this period, the patient experienced considerable anxiety and dissatisfaction, particularly with the wound care he received. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, I contacted Estelle's team to explore alternative accommodations to improve the patient's satisfaction. It was with amazement that Estelle and her team were able to turn things around in terms of service recovery.
The patient was immensely satisfied with the service and could not stop thanking the team for all their efforts. Estelle's ability to effectively manage and swiftly address issues not only alleviates the concerns of patients but also continually raises the standard of care provided by our facility. Her proactive approach and dedication are exemplary, setting a benchmark for outstanding nursing leadership.
