Within my 7 day stay in the hospital I've experienced many good nurses but no one like Esther Kook. What sets her apart from the others was her ability to notice I needed help without asking. For example, she helped me walk to the restroom when seeing I had difficulty walking, changing my gown when I was drenched in sweat, and knowing when to give encouragement and empathy when seeing me in pain. Why is this important? It's because I almost fell attempting to walk the first time after strictly being in bed for 5 days. Esther cared to notice this. She listened the first time when I expressed concerns and the result is it made me feel safe. Esther, thank you from the bottom of my heart for treating me like a human being and not just another County patient. And thank you for your kindness to my children and parents when they visited. You are definitely built for this. God bless you.
