April 2025 Honoree
Esther Park, RN
It seems fitting to have this award named as such. The Daisy was 'my' flower, I would gift my mother growing up. She was an OR nurse. In Pre-Op, the nurse instructed my partner that his rings would have to come off. For more than 25 years, those rings were on his finger to the point that the knuckle and hand appeared to have grown around them. After shedding some tears, he agreed to have them cut off. But Esther wasn't giving up that easily. When I saw her holding his rings undamaged, I was reminded of how much a nurse has to care for the patient beyond physical wounds. His surgery was quick and successful. To hear him talk about his experience last Friday, you hear only his appreciation of the entire staff, especially Esther!
Thank you, Esther, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
