Esther was the nurse who did my mother’s intake when she converted from the ER to a regular room. She made the check-in process easy and smooth. She made sure my mom was comfortable, cleaned up, and ready for bed. After tending to my mother’s needs, she then came back for the intake information. She made the entire intake process easy. She was easy to talk to and to ask questions to understand the process and next steps for my mother. Esther made us very comfortable and also wanted to make sure if we as visitors needed anything that our needs would be met too. We left that night with a great feeling that our mother was in good hands. We were able to go home and get a good night's sleep knowing that she was under Esther's care. The next shift Esther worked which was 2 days later, she took the time to stop by my mother’s room to check on her even though she wasn’t her nurse for the night. That meant a lot to me and my family. Esther went the extra mile as a nurse to come see my mom and my family to check on her and her well-being. It’s hard to find people these days with such compassion for their patients and such caring that exemplifies what a great and caring nurse she is. She is a true asset to RWJ community.
