In late 2017 the committee received a heartfelt letter from a patient nominating Eufemia (aka Fay) Mora from the 5th floor for a DAISY Award. She described how afraid she was when arriving to her room after surgery and how Fay patiently took the time to explain each machine she was to use and why; as well as her medications' benefits and side effects. The patient described how Fay went above and beyond to ease her anxiety allowing her to focus on healing faster even cheering her on as she took her first steps post-surgery. The extra time, patience, and kindness Fay demonstrated is truly appreciated. Congratulations Fay!
