Ed is a superb nurse on our team. He is both efficient and compassionate. His commitment, work ethic, and energy are contagious. He never hesitates to offer assistance to those in need. His attentiveness and manners are endearing. He genuinely cares about his patients and colleagues, When Ed is working with us, it is impossible to have a bad day. He consistently goes above and beyond by exemplifying quality, and demonstrating excellence, and compassion in everything he does. Some say his excellence is due to his military background, but his qualities are not something that can be taught-it is just who Ed is at heart.

A memorable example of his compassion is when Ed was called in on his day off to help out at 4 Center. Ed commutes to work by bicycle, and when he arrived at work, he noticed a nurse nearly in tears because she was being floated to another unit. Because of his natural talent and sympathy towards others, he offered to be floated instead of the other nurse. Ed is constantly making others smile by doing tasks like that.

On another occasion, I see Ed walk by the room of a patient he wasn’t assigned to, greet her by name, and inquire about her well-being. Here at 4-Center, Ed is a fan favorite. He is a superb illustration of a remarkable nurse. 4-Center is proud to have such an Extraordinary Nurse on our team.
