It is hard to pick just one story how Eun Sun provides excellent care. Stories string together as this is who she is. A kind, caring nurse. Eun Sun Cho encourages team building on her unit when she makes the unit morning hot oatmeal with all the fixings. She engages the entire unit to participate. Eun Sun has a vision of inclusion when she brings a salad large enough to feed an army. An army of hungry workers who care for others. The nursing supervisor joins in, along with 5 South and EVS colleagues. A hot cup of tea or coffee for an afternoon pick me up shows up without even knowing you needed one. Eun Sun does this while caring deeply for her patients and colleagues.

She always sits with me and explains when I do not understand. She gets me tea and stops in when she is not my nurse.

Eun Sun insisted my wife be present when I was given my discharge instructions. I think she thought I would forget. Eun Sun explained everything to my wife and me. I never waited for a nurse when I pushed my button.

As simple as these actions are, the feelings are genuine.
I know I would feel comforted with the words I so often hear her say to her patients, "Don't worry, I will take care of you" or "Don't be afraid I will take care of you". I learn more about compassion in one patient interaction I share with Eun Sun than 100 hours of classroom time. She delivers on that promise every time. She touches her patients and looks into their eyes and reassures them she will be back.
After getting permission from the patient, Eun Sun has been known to call the patient herself to make sure they made it home and answer any questions they might have.
In addition to caring for her patients and colleagues, Eun Sun assists the manager with many duties. Eun Sun develops the draft of the nursing staff schedule, she oversees product ordering and is conscientious of fiscal responsibilities with overseeing products and resources on the unit.
