Compassion and empathy are some of the characteristics that come to mind when you think of what a nurse should have. Eunice encompasses these and more. A dedicated nurse who demonstrates these qualities daily yet one incidence stands out. Imagine being a patient in a hospital as an expatriate where no one speaks your language and you have no family to visit. Having spent a period of time in the burn unit following an accident the patient was transferred out to the floor. On the final phase of his recovery before traveling home, the patient highlighted the kindness of all staff, but one nurse especially, who went above and beyond.
Eunice brought him particular foods to encourage his appetite and in preparation for his discharge she brought in some clothing. All had been purchased by herself in an act of kindness unbeknownst to others. We are forever grateful to be working with a nurse like Eunice and for the continuous care, she gives to all patients.
Eunice is a good role model to everyone as she demonstrates positive attitude, professionalism, thoughtful, compassionate and caring whatever the situation is.
