September 2012 Honoree
euriane nane santos, RN
Euriane “Nane” Santos, RN is our most recent recipient of the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses after a patient’s daughter nominated her for being so “caring and understanding” to her mother.
In the nomination, the woman wrote that her mother lost her husband of 51 years while at Winchester Hospital. She said that Nane volunteered to take her mother to the wake so she could say goodbye.
“My mother often spoke about how wonderful Nane was,” the woman wrote. “Nane had such a positive impact on my mother’s life as well as our family’s life. She is an extremely compassionate and caring person and she was a great comfort to all.”
