I feel like if she was not there, things would have gone in the wrong direction, and I would have not had the outcome I did.
Eva was training a nurse when I was in the PACU after my surgery. I was having issues with my blood pressure and because of this, I could not get much pain medication. The nurse Eva was training was almost off orientation, but because my blood pressures were not cooperating, she stayed by my bedside and kept a close eye on me. I was extremely uncomfortable and there was not much that Eva could do about it, but she tried everything she could to help my pain. Eva was so compassionate; I was so lucky to have her in the PACU. I feel like if she was not there, things would have gone in the wrong direction, and I would have not had the outcome I did. She was in constant communication with the doctors about my plan of care, and she updated me frequently. Eva made an effort to get to know me and distracted me from everything that was going on. My sister was waiting for me in the room I was assigned. Eva made sure my sister was updated, and even let my sister come say hi to me quickly because I had to stay overnight in the PACU. The next day, Eva helped take me to the floor. She made sure I was getting the care I needed. Eva checked on me twice more after that, she is truly remarkable. I have had many surgeries, and I know that Eva was meant to be a nurse. She is phenomenal at her job.
