August 2026 Honoree
Evan Quintong, RN
Evan Quintong provided exceptional, patient-centered care for a patient admitted with DKA, going well beyond routine expectations. She took time to deliver thorough, hands-on education about diabetes management including insulin administration and use of a Dexcom device, ensuring the patient truly understands each step rather just receiving instructions.
Even after her shift ended, she stayed to help setup the device and reinforce teaching, demonstrating genuine commitment to patient safety and long-term success. Her efforts clearly made a meaningful difference, and both the patient and family expressed deep appreciation. RN Quintong exhibits the very best of Navy Medicine through her compassion, dedication, and unwavering focus of safe, high-quality care.
