I had the pleasure of being cared for by a 23-year-old nurse named Evan, and I can honestly say he is unlike any nurse, or even physician, I have encountered before.
From the moment he entered my room and introduced himself, it was clear that he was exceptionally knowledgeable, compassionate, and professional.
Evan took the time to thoroughly explain my medical condition in a way that was detailed, yet easy to understand. He ensured I fully grasped my situation, and when my husband arrived, he patiently explained everything again so that we both felt informed and reassured. His ability to communicate complex medical information clearly and effectively is truly remarkable.
Not only is Evan incredibly intelligent, but he also demonstrates genuine empathy and compassion. He treats his patients with respect and kindness, making you feel heard and cared for.
My husband and I both encouraged him to continue his education, as we truly believe he has the potential to go even further, perhaps as a specialist such as a cardiologist or in any field he chooses.
Despite his young age, Evan is exceptionally well-educated, insightful, and dedicated. I have been hospitalized several times, and I have never encountered a nurse like him.
Even after I was transferred to another room, he took the time at the end of his shift to stop by, say goodbye, thank me, and encourage me to continue making progress. That meant more than words can express.
Evan has a unique way of emphasizing the importance of taking care of your heart and overall health, using medical terminology in a way that is still very accessible to someone without a medical background. He truly connects with his patients.
Evan is an incredible asset to Saratoga Hospital, and Albany Medical Health System should do everything possible to retain him. It is rare to find someone so dedicated, compassionate, and passionate about both his work and his patients.
