I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and was fortunate enough to be assigned Evelyn as my nurse navigator. She has provided compassion and information in equal doses which makes for excellent medicine. Recently I had to get a BRCA test at the Cancer Center. The nurse had neglected to have me sign a paper before I had the lab work done and Quest. As a result, I was supposed to come back and sign it. I am 83 years old, and although I still drive, it was almost ½ hour each way. Quest never answers the phone in person. I called Evelyn. She arranged to have the papers faxed to me. My stress level evaporated to zero. It may not seem like a big thing to you, but in a day when everything beside that was going wrong, she was a guardian angel. I hope you appreciate her as much as I do.
